RESTORING OUR LOCAL MOSSES
Our Work with the Friends of the Chat Moss and Little Woolden Moss Project
The "Friends" are a local group working with the Chat Moss Project and the Lancashire Wildlife Trust to restore 115 Hectares of a previous peat extraction site. They are working to restore the mossland and create a living landscape for people as well as the many wetland species that are in rapid decline. We are assisting by taking some cuttings from heathers, sowing cotton grass seeds and sphagnum moss and propagating them before they are planted back on the mosslands. More can be found on the Friends Facebook page here. |
