About us

Picture

The garden centre is a social enterprise run by community members and managed by the Ability Cooperative. It exists for the benefit of disabled people and the wider community. We want the garden centre to be an important community asset which provides a relaxing, friendly environment that everyone will want to use.

The garden centre is fully operational and is open all year round. We have a range of plants, trees, shrubs and other garden products on offer. We grow most of our own plants on site from seeds and cuttings.

We also produce high quality woodwork products, including small tables, bird boxes and garden and other ornaments. We also produce great quality wooden planters and which we can plant up for you and are very good value for money.

Most of our plants and woodwork items have been produced by our day opportunities students under the supervision of our trained staff and volunteers.

Most things can be produced to order so let us know if there is anything you would like
.
Publicity Pack
We have developed a Publicity Pack to promote the Princes Park Garden Centre and our Day Opportunities programme. Please see content below. If you would like a hard copy of the pack, please let us know by emailing or telephoning us on the contact details above or by visiting us.

Day Opportunities

We deliver a good quality day opportunities programme in gardening and woodwork. Supported by our trained staff and volunteers, our placement students help to produce most of the plants and woodwork items on offer at the garden centre. Our placement students get a lot out of working with us, including learning new skills, making friends and working in a relaxed atmosphere. We offer day placements to disabled people and anyone who would like to learn and share new skills.

Community  events

Community activities and events are delivered throughout the year to raise awareness and involve the community and to showcase the garden centre and the work we do.
